‘One Love’ came from a project that celebrates the Air Max 1. A deconstruction animation of the sneaker was connected with a generative art system that duplicates, scales, repositions, recolours and rotates the shoes. The results are infinite and mesmerising. An A3 risograph print on uncoated 200gsm natural white stock made by local Bristol paper mill Arboreta. Edition of 50. Artwork is unframed, rolled and shipped in a cardboard tube.
If you’re not familiar with risograph then it’s like a cross between screen printing and photocopying. The riso prints bright, vibrant colours one at a time. This process means that no two prints are 100% identical and they may subtly differ from the one shown in the pictures (but not by much). You can, however, be sure that the colours are remarkably bright and bold and the grainy textures give this a really nice hand-made feel.
